The Wall Street Journal: China OKs controversial law requiring tech firms to help decrypt data

China passed a new anti-terrorism law that requires technology firms to help security agencies in the decryption of electronic data, but dropped an earlier proposal that would have required telecoms and Internet service providers to hand over encryption codes to Chinese authorities.
